Linux System Admin with C Programming

Emcien is seeking a expert Linux system administrator with strong C Programming skills. This role will split its time managing our web applications hosted on the Amazon EC2 infrastructure and working with our Chief Mathematician to develop pattern-detection C programs.

Must Have

• Expertise in Linux system administration
• Knowledge of Amazon EC2 infrastructure
• High competency in C programming
• Expertise in database administration

Nice to Have

• High competency in scripting languages like Ruby/Python
• Experience with writing automated deployment and setup scripts (capistrano and puppet or chef)
• Experience in web development and automated testing tools
• Experience with OSX system administration
• Knowledge of Operation Research algorithms

Web Developer

Emcien is seeking a highly talented web developer with expertise in the full web stack. Our engineering team builds dynamic web applications using the Ruby on Rails framework, Amazon EC2 hosting, Redis, Backbone.js, and other technologies.

We are open to training someone with expertise in a non-Ruby language but demonstrates mastery of web development concepts.

We are looking for someone to help us develop new applications based on our patented pattern-detection algorithms.

Must Have

• Experience with an application framework such as Rails, Django, Pylons, CakePHP or CodeIgniter
• Expertise in MVC Architecture
• Expertise in Javascript (Backbone, jQuery, Node)
• Expertise in testing methodologies
• Expertise in SQL
• Competency in computer science fundamentals such as functional programming techniques

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Amazon EC2 infrastructure
• Knowledge of CouchDB, Redis, and other data storage applications
• Knowledge of Heroku and Git
