Where did the name Emcien come from?
The name “Emcien” comes from the combinatorial formula mCn that computes the number of ways of selecting “m” items from a set of “n” items, which can only be done by using the existing patterns.
How did Emcien get started?
Dr. Roy Marsten was a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and was approached by a leading company to solve the critical business decisions of identifying the most popular choice combinations and trends in sales transactions. The companies also told Dr. Marsten that the tools should be easy to use and fast to implement. “We are facing a new generation of employees who want intuitive, easy-to-use software that gives them consistent and sound actionable results”.
In 2002, Dr. Marsten founded Emcien and set about designing intelligent analytics based on pattern recognition technology that can reveal customer buying patterns and trends. From the get-go the mission has been to help companies to move beyond tedious data-mining and querying into intelligent analytics that automatically reveals actionable insight.
Today, Emcien offers a suite of analytical applications that reveal patterns in data streams and actionable tasks to maximize profit. Emcien’s analytics are based on innovative technology that leverages patterns in the data. This break-through innovation has eliminated the need for tedious data models and long implementation cycles.
